NGO Goals - Motivating the Public

"If you change your thinking, you will change your world."
-Norman Vincent Peale

One of the main goals of most NGO's is to motivate the public. This can be done in a variety of ways. For example: If an NGO builds a library in a rural third world country, how does this motivate the public? Well, this can reach different people in different ways. Some people may be more inclined to read since there are now more chances to handle books. Others may feel motivated to keep their communities cleaner because there is now a nice facitlity that sets a new standard for cleanliness. Some people may now see a reason to send their children to school in order to learn how to read using the new resources provided by the NGO. In  the end, positive outreach usually creates a positive outlook and a general sense of motivation amongst members of a community.
